Paul Rand once said, "That which makes for good advertising is one thing, and that which makes for good art is another; but that which makes for good advertising art is an harmonious resolution of both." Design must be able to minimize confusion to help us find our way in the world, must connect and inform, assist and delight us. Designers disseminate information of all kinds, imposing meaningful order and creating systems to shape its retention and viability. In other cases, it might quicken our imaginations, amuse us, convey the ineffable. Original illustration can achieve all these things, when done properly. While the illustrations below were all done by Diane Wanek, Zigzag has worked with illustrators across the country, and even internationally, who represent a host of styles and techniques. If a cartoon character or cityscape or abstract, geometric, map or any other kind of illustration will help you translate your message, we can help you with finding the right artist for your project.
Below are a few examples of illustration projects we've done. Click on the images to view enlarged images.
