Zigzag opened its doors in New Orleans in 1991, dedicated to effective, innovative communication through design. Our hallmark is divergent continuity, as exemplified by the Z letterform we use for our logo. With considerable respect for traditional and time-proven design systems and concepts, Zigzag builds upon them with fresh ideas, using best practices in finding new approaches that succeed. We are devoted to clear, effective, cost-efficient solutions for our clients. Now based in Omaha, Zigzag provides services to clients across the country.
Zigzag has won a lot of design awards over the years, but more important to us is the appreciation our clients show when something we've designed for them proves highly effective. We pride ourselves on working in close collaboration with our clients, doing due diligence to gain helpful insights into their businesses, their client base, and their goals. That kind of teamwork provides a strong foundation for building good communication and producing effective marketing tools.
Diane Wanek is the founder and director of Zigzag. Beginning her design career in book publishing, her first design work was books, covers, advertising, and catalogs for books. Her mentor in that business was the renowned book designer, Richard Eckersley, and his wife, Dika Eckersley. Relocating to New Orleans in 1991, Wanek established her own design firm with her first clients, Black Top Records, the Greater New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Entergy Arts Business Center and Arts Council of New Orleans.
